Wade Mountain Marathon
The Wade Mountain Marathon is scheduled for October 18, 2026 at Wade Mountain near Huntsville, Alabama. The event is contested on low-traffic trails and offers multiple distance options on marked courses with published maps and elevation profiles.
Distances
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10K
The event is organized as a cupless race; participants must carry a handheld bottle, pack, or reusable cup because aid stations will not provide paper cups. A reusable cup can be purchased at checkout for $5. All race entries include a hooded sweatshirt, finisher medal, and a post-race meal. After the race there will be grilled hamburgers and drinks available to runners.
Time limits are in place: a marathon cutoff of eight hours with a halfway checkpoint around 14.8 miles, and a half marathon cutoff of six hours. The races are expected to go on in rain or shine on these trails; in cases of heavy rain the course may be delayed, altered, or canceled to protect the land. The land trust that manages the property has final authority over cancellations.
Volunteer positions offer rewards for future race entries based on hours worked. Registration closes on October 15 at 11:59 PM CT or when the event reaches capacity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
