Wabash Run The River
Wabash Run The River is a chip-timed running event held on June 5, 2027 that follows the Wabash River corridor along the Wabash River Trail. The course uses roads and paved paths and begins and ends at Friendship Hill Inclusive Playground.
Participants can choose from these distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10K
- 5K
The event includes wheelchair divisions with My Team Triumph 5K and 10K. Every finisher receives a medal. Water and Gatorade are available at four water stations located at approximately 1 mile, 2 miles, 4 miles, and 6 miles; the same stops are available on the return. Portable restrooms are provided at the playground and at each water station. Bananas, Gatorade, and water are available at the finish line.
Awards and timing details are provided on race day. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers in the Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K. Youth participants 17 and younger are priced differently and are not eligible for cash prizes. High school and college athletes are ineligible to accept cash rewards per IHSAA regulations; prize funds for ineligible athletes will be donated to a local charity in their honor.
Additional race details include a crossroads chip timer, turnaround flags and verification mats on course, event parking near the playground, race day packet pick up, race gear for registrations through April 30, and a rain or shine policy with cancellation only for unsafe conditions.
