Wabash Run The River
Wabash Run The River is a chip timed running event in Wabash, Indiana that follows the Wabash River Trail. The start and finish area is at Friendship Hill Inclusive Playground. The event offers multiple distances, wheelchair divisions, and on site packet pick-up the day before and the morning of the event.
Available race distances include:
- Half marathon 13.1 miles
- 10K
- 5K
- Wheelchair 10K and 5K
The course is mostly on paved trail with under a mile of crushed gravel in the half marathon. There are four water stations located near miles 1, 2, 4, and 6 with water and Gatorade; portable restrooms are available at the playground and at each water stop. Timing is provided by a chip timer and live results are available through QR codes near the finish and on RUNSIGNUP.
Every participant receives a finisher medal. Youth entries (17 and younger) have a reduced fee and are not eligible for cash prizes. Strollers may participate at no charge. Cash prizes are offered to top overall finishers in the half, 10K, and 5K; high school and college athletes are ineligible to accept cash awards under governing regulations and funds may be redirected if needed. Registrations are non refundable and non transferable. The event proceeds rain or shine; the local emergency management director monitors weather and may cancel if conditions are unsafe.
