Event Overview

The Firecracker 5K is an annual Independence Day running event held in Peru, Indiana. For its 22nd edition, the race takes place on July 4, 2026. The event starts and finishes at the Peru Fire Department located on West Canal Street.

The race utilizes disposable tag timing to provide accurate results for all participants. Those who register by the specified late-June deadline are guaranteed a performance shirt and a grab bag.
