Event overview
The Huntington Triathlon #1, organized by Ruble Racing, is scheduled for July 19, 2026 at Lake Clare in Huntington, Indiana (1005 N Broadway St, Huntington IN 46750). The event is USAT sanctioned and professionally chip timed. Entry is open to athletes age 12 (by 12-31-26) and up. The field is limited to 1,000 total racers. Relay and aquabike options are offered.
Race distances
- Sprint Triathlon - 500 yard swim; 12 mile bike; 3.1 mile run
- Olympic Triathlon - 1500 meter swim; 25 mile bike; 6.2 mile run
- Half Iron Triathlon - 1.2 mile swim; 56 mile bike; 13.1 mile run
Format, courses, and rules
Swims take place in Lake Clare with individual time-trial style starts. Buoys, kayaks, and safety personnel will line the swim course. The bike courses are on open county roads with police control at intersections; the half iron course is two laps and has three aid stations at about 20, 28, and 48 miles. The sprint and Olympic bike courses have no aid stations. Run courses use paved roads and the paved trail system; the half iron uses a double out-and-back on paved surfaces and no longer includes the XC grass/ hills segment. Wetsuit use follows USAT temperature rules and can affect award eligibility. Helmets meeting CPSC standards are required and personal audio devices are prohibited.
Logistics and services
Packet pickup and registration are available the day before and on race day. All finishers receive a medal and participants receive a race shirt. Results, splits, and timing will be posted live by the race timer. Transition rules, body marking, aid station placement, and common USAT penalties are enforced.
