Celebrate Life in Long Beach
The Viva la Vida - Día de los Muertos event is a Day of the Dead-inspired running race held along the coast of Long Beach, California. The event takes place on an open-pathway route, utilizing pedestrian-friendly beach paths and park loops. These courses are car-free and offer a scenic environment for all participants.
Participants are encouraged to wear costumes, such as marigolds, skull face paint, or traditional attire, to participate in the onsite costume contest. The event is designed to be beginner-welcoming and stroller-friendly, accommodating a wide range of participants on shared public trails.

The race features professional chip-timing, and results are synced for participants to track their progress. On-course amenities include water stations and restrooms. Participants receive finisher medals and have access to free downloadable race-day photos. The event concludes with a finish line atmosphere that includes photo stops and music.
Bib pick-up occurs on the morning of the event at the race site. Parking is available in various beachfront lots and through street parking along Ocean Blvd. Use of the Passport Parking App is recommended for those using paid lots near the start and finish line.
