Event Overview

The Virginia Regional Ballet 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk is the 9th annual event, organized by Virginia Regional Ballet and the Colonial Road Runners. It will take place on May 9, 2026, in the First Colony neighborhood of Williamsburg.

The event features two distances:

5K run/walk
1 mile fun run/walk

The 5K course is a counterclockwise loop on the tree-lined, paved roads of the First Colony neighborhood. The route is described as fast and mostly flat, starting and finishing at the First Colony Clubhouse. The event is part of the Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix series.

Purpose & Details

This is a fundraising event. The proceeds support a live orchestra for Virginia Regional Ballet's annual production of The Nutcracker at the Ferguson Center for the Arts in Newport News. Awards and refreshments will be available after the races in the First Colony Pavilion. Race day registration and packet pick-up begins at 7:30 a.m. at the clubhouse.
