Virginia-Highland Summerfest 5K
The Virginia-Highland Summerfest 5K is a community road race held on June 6 that starts at the intersection of Lanier Boulevard and Virginia Avenue. The course winds through a tree-lined historic neighborhood; the route is scheduled to be posted by April 1, 2026. The race is chip timed and serves as an official AJC Peachtree Road Race qualifier. Event swag includes a premium T-shirt, and proceeds support the neighborhood through the Virginia-Highland Civic Association.
Registration deadlines affect T-shirt availability; entries not received by 11:59 pm on May 31 may not receive a preferred shirt size. Packet pick-up has expanded over three days to offer flexibility. Bib pick-up takes place at the parking lot at 1017 N Highland Ave NE in Virginia-Highland; Saturday pick-ups will receive only the bib, with T-shirts distributed at the finish. Early packet pickup is encouraged.
Awards are presented to overall male and female winners, masters male and female winners, and to age-group winners across 15 age divisions. The age-group breakdown covers youth through seniors, listed as: 10 and under, 11-15, 16-20, 21-25, 26-30, 31-35, 36-40, 41-45, 46-50, 51-55, 56-60, 61-65, 65-69, 70-74, and 75 and over.
A related Tot Trot for children ages 1 to 5 is scheduled the same day at John Howell Park; free entry is offered for the first 150 registrants and spots are limited for safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
