Viking Sports 5K and Fun Runs
The Viking Sports 5K and Fun Runs is a community running event held at Brookline High School. The event features multiple distance options and activities centered near the school grounds and local streets. Participants can choose from different race formats based on age and distance preferences.
Available event distances include:
- 5 km (for ages 9 and older)
- 1 km (for ages 9 and older)
- Fun Run (for ages 8 and younger)
The 5 km and 1 km races follow a route that begins and ends on Davis Street. From the start, participants head onto Cypress Street and turn left onto Harvard Avenue. The course includes a turnaround point located near TJ Maxx, where runners head back down Harvard Avenue toward the finish line on Davis Street. This 5 km race is chip timed.
Children aged 8 and younger participate in age-based fun runs conducted on the grass field at Brookline High School. In addition to the races, the event includes an activity zone on the Cypress Street field featuring various games. If it rains, these activities are moved indoors.
