2027 Vietnam Veteran's 5k
The event is a chip timed 5k held at the WARF (Warrenton Aquatic and Recreation Facility), 800 Waterloo Rd., Warrenton, VA. Course details note a paved path with several hills; the 5k is an out and back route and course maps include elevation information.
Runners receive a finisher's medal and a technical Dri-FIT event shirt. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for participants registered before March 17; additional shirts are ordered for later registrants on a first come first served basis. A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person.
Three water stations are located along the course at approximately mile markers 1, 1.55, and 2.55, with Gatorade available at some stations. Restrooms are available inside the WARF. Packet pickup is offered at the event; organizers recommend arriving about one hour before the race to check in. Race day registration is available, though shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for same day registrants.
Points earned at the event count toward the Year-Long 5k and Back of the Pack series and toward the Winter Series. Proceeds from the event will support Hero’s Bridge, including meal and transportation assistance, volunteer services, and housing construction for older veterans.
Awards are presented to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in multiple age categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
