Points from the event count toward the 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series and also toward the Winter Series. The race benefits the Northern Piedmont Sports Center, whose mission is to provide recreational and competitive sports opportunities in the northern Piedmont region of Virginia.
Participants are listed as receiving a finisher’s medal, a technical (drifit) event shirt, and chip-timed results. Medals and shirts are guaranteed for runners who register before March 18. Registration fees listed are: 5k $30 until March 15 then $35, and 10k $45 until March 15 then $50.
Course support and logistics include seven water stations on the 10k course and three on the 5k course at specified mile markers, with Gatorade available at some stations. Restrooms are inside the WARF. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered; participants are advised to allow time for check-in. Live race results will be posted on Athlinks with a race QR code on site, and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. Awards include top three overall men and women and first and second in standard age groups; overall top three are not eligible for age group awards. Photos taken by staff are posted on the organizer’s social media the Tuesday after the event.
