Event
The 2026 Race for Space takes place on March 28, 2026 in Warrenton, Virginia at the WARF (Warrenton Aquatic & Recreation Facility), 800 Waterloo Rd., Warrenton, VA 20186. The event offers the following race distances:
- 5K
- 10K
Points from this event count toward the 5K, 10K, Back of the Pack Series, and the Winter Series.
Details
Both in-person and virtual options are available. The event is chip timed. All participants receive a finisher medal and a technical (Dri-FIT) event shirt; medals and shirts are guaranteed for runners who register before March 18. Live results will be posted online and final results with series points are posted to the organizer’s website after the race.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place male and female in these age groups: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Runners who place in the top three overall are not eligible for age-group awards.
Logistics
Packet pickup is available at the event; organizers recommend arriving about one hour before the race to check in. Race day registration is offered. Water and Gatorade stations are provided - seven stations on the 10K at approximate mile markers, and three stations on the 5K at approximate mile markers. Restrooms are located inside the WARF.
