About the race
The Victoria Half is a multisport event on Vancouver Island centered around Elk and Beaver Lakes. The swim takes place as a calm one-loop lake swim at Elk Lake. The bike course travels through Saanich and the run follows flat, soft lake trails around Elk and Beaver Lakes. The event has been held for over 25 years and serves as a venue for championships and qualification races.
The 2026 schedule includes the Provincial Long Course Championships and the event is a qualifying event for the Edmonton 2027 World Triathlon Championships. Age-group long course, age-group aquabike (long course), and standard duathlon age-group races are listed among the championship categories. A range of race formats is offered alongside championship categories, including Olympic distance, sprint distance, duathlon, aquabike, Try-A-Tri, and relay entries. The event also added open runs in 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km distances.
Participants receive a commemorative hoodie as part of the event offerings.
