Victoria Half & Sprint Triathlon
The Victoria Half is a long-standing multisport event held on Vancouver Island for over 25 years. The race takes place in the scenic Saanich area, utilizing the natural landscape of Elk and Beaver Lakes. The event serves as a host for various championships, including the 2026 Provincial Long Course Championships and qualifying spots for the 2027 World Triathlon Championships in Edmonton.
The course is designed around Elk Lake, beginning with a calm one-loop swim. The cycling portion travels through the rural roads of Saanich, followed by a run held on the flat, soft-surface trails surrounding the lakes. This event is recognized for its tradition of providing participants with a commemorative hoodie and attracts a range of participants from international competitors to those entering their first multisport race.
Athletes can select from a diverse list of categories and distances:
- Victoria Half (Long course)
- Olympic and Sprint distances
- Duathlon and Aquabike
- Try-A-Tri
- Relay teams
- 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km open runs
The event infrastructure includes support on the course and specific categories for different age groups. In addition to the physical races in Victoria, information is available for those interested in virtual event formats. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
