Event Overview
The Vicksburg Hearty Hustle is a 39th annual running and walking event in Vicksburg, Michigan, on May 9, 2026. The event offers two main 5K (3.1 mile) distances: a 5K Run and a 5K Walk. It also includes a 1-mile Fun Walk.
Location and Schedule
The event is centered at Vicksburg High School/Vicksburg Stadium. Registration and packet pickup are available on Friday afternoon at the Vicksburg Administration Building and on Saturday morning at Vicksburg Stadium. Awards are presented in the morning.
Registration and Fees
The standard pre-registration fee is $30, which increases after a set date. A discounted rate of $20 is available for participants under 18 years old and seniors 60+. To guarantee receiving an event t-shirt, registration must be completed before May 1, 2026. Members of the KAR Running Club receive an additional $5 discount for early registration. Registration is also available on the Friday before and on the day of the event at a higher fee.
Course and Awards
The 5K route is described as a scenic tour through the historic Village of Vicksburg. The event states that everyone who participates is considered a winner, with a focus on high participation. Prizes are awarded for the 5K Run and 5K Walk to first-place male and female overall winners, masters winners, and first place in each of 14 divisions. Raffle prizes are also part of the event.
