Vets Day 5K & 10K
The Vets Day 5K & 10K is an athletic event held at the War Memorial in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This event serves to honor veterans and active-duty service members. It is included as part of the Wisconsin Chilly Willy Winter Run Series and takes place within Veterans Park.
The race course features a unique layout where participants start and finish on Mason Street, directly in front of the War Memorial building. The event offers several different distances and participation modes:
- 10K (approximately 6.26 miles) run
- 5K (approximately 3.37 miles) run
- 5K Walk
- 5K Ruck
- 1K Kiddo's Race
Following the completion of the races, an awards ceremony is held on-site. Participants have access to a hot chocolate bar as part of the post-race activities.
The event coordinates with the Silver Circle Foundation to raise funds for Operation Finally Home, an organization founded in 2005. This organization focuses on constructing custom, mortgage-free homes for American veterans and their families.
