Event Overview
The Lakefront Discovery Run takes place in Milwaukee and serves as a seasonal celebration along the lakefront. Starting at Veteran's Park, the course offers views of the water and includes several specific features to mark the occasion. Participants can choose between three different distances:
- 15k
- 5k
- 450m Kid's Costume Race
The event is open to runners, walkers, and those who wish to skip or hop the distance. The route includes Monster Mile markers and candy-laden aid stations.
Course and Amenities
The run starts and finishes near the lakefront, with the 15k and 5k courses following the local bike paths and breakwater. Participants who register by October 18th are guaranteed an event t-shirt. On-site facilities include a heated tent for post-race activities, which feature snacks, music, and candy. Beer is provided for adult participants following the event.
Early packet pick-up is available at various locations in Milwaukee, Brookfield, and Shorewood in the days leading up to the race. Race day registration is also offered at the park, though shirts are not guaranteed for late registrants.
Awards and Recognition

- Overall Winners: Awards for the first-place male and female finishers in the 5k and 15k.
- Age Groups: Recognition for the top three male and female finishers in age brackets ranging from 14 and under to 80 and over.
- Costume Awards: Specific prizes are given for the Best Costume in male, female, and group categories, as selected by event staff.
