Charleston Itty Bitty 50
The Charleston Itty Bitty 50 is a point-to-point 50-mile road run in the Charleston, South Carolina area with a limited field. Registration opens February 14, 2026 and closes December 11, 2026. This edition will offer 75 entry spots; a waitlist opens once those spots are filled.
The course is unmarked and runs on open roads and public paths. The route begins at the end of the West Ashley Greenway and passes through central Charleston, over the Ashley River and the main bridge to Mount Pleasant, around local parks and the Charleston peninsula, through Mount Pleasant's Old Village, across Sullivan's Island and the Isle of Palms, then along Hwy 17 North to the Park West track and field finish in Mount Pleasant. Roads will remain open and there are no scheduled aid stations or course markings.
This is a self-supported event. The only entry fee is a donation to cover the cost of a rented tracker; leftover funds or contributions from dropouts will go to a local fund. There are no refunds or bib transfers. Runners are responsible for their own crew support, refueling from public businesses along the route, and transportation to and from start and finish.
Finishers complete a final lap around the track to reach 50 miles; the last 400 meters is a separately timed 400 meter segment. Organizers will monitor finishers through late on race day, providing roughly an 18-hour window to complete the distance. The run is held in memory of the organizer's son.
A shorter 100-mile event will not be offered this year. The Itty Bitty 50 was added in 2022 as an alternative to the original Charleston 100 and has filled in previous years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
