Vero Beach Octopus Ultra
The Vero Beach Octopus Ultra is scheduled for July 10–11, 2027 in Vero Beach, Florida, organized by Mule Racing. The event uses the grounds of the Environmental Learning Center as its home base and will donate a portion of proceeds to the center. The race is built around a central base with eight out-and-back arms, called Octo-Arms, that are combined to form different event distances.
Distances offered include:
- 100 Miler all eight arms, 32 hours to finish for buckle eligibility
- 100K add arm A5 to the 50 mile combination
- 50 Miler complete arms A1, A2, A3 and A4
- 50K
- Ultra Teaser single arm A1, about 16.86 miles There is also a mini ultra option of about 29.4 miles.
Participants should note the event allows a 32 hour finish window for distances. Organizers reserve the right to remove competitors for health and safety concerns related to heat and conditions. There are long sections without water access. Crew is no longer mandatory but is strongly recommended; runners attempting their first 100 mile should have an experienced 100 mile crew.
