Ventura Marathon & Half Marathon
The Ventura Marathon event offers a full marathon and a half marathon that run from the Ojai area to Downtown Ventura. Both courses have a net downhill profile and finish in Ventura.
The full marathon starts in Ojai and finishes in Downtown Ventura. It drops about 900 feet and follows roads and bike paths toward the coast. The half marathon starts just south of Ojai, uses sections of the Ojai-Ventura bike path, drops over 500 feet, and is USATF certified. The event indicates there is no Boston Marathon time penalty.
A pre-race and post-race festival takes place in Downtown Ventura. The festival area includes exhibitor booths, post-race food options such as waffles, craft beer offerings, and nearby shopping, dining, and sightseeing. The finish area and festival are located in the beach town of Ventura, which hosts community events during the weekend.
