Vensterberg Sunrise Expedition3
Vensterberg Sunrise Expedition3 is a guided sunrise hike that starts at Sputnik on the Outeniqua Pass near George in the Western Cape. The outing follows a roughly 5 km out-and-back route that gains about 532 m of elevation and is described as taking about five hours in total.
The route passes close to a rocky summit formation that frames views of parts of George. The event meeting point is at Sputnik; a pin drop for the gathering location will be communicated to participants.
Venture Butik lists a compulsory emergency kit requirement for all its hikes. Required items include a headlamp, a suitable lightweight hydration pack or backpack, 1–2 litres of water, sunscreen, a hat, shoes with proper grip, trail snacks or hiking food, a lightweight windproof jacket or fleece, and beanie and gloves depending on the weather. A waterproof jacket is recommended. Dress in layers. Optional items mentioned are fingerless gloves, hiking poles, buffs and coffee.
