About the race
The Fancourt Marathon on 17 October 2026 is a road running event held at The Ridge, Fancourt, George, Western Cape, South Africa. The event offers timed marathon and half marathon distances with race timing provided by Bout Time; timing chips are included in race bibs. Timing policy is strict: no entry, no bib, no time.

Entry fees and temporary license fees are stated per distance, with minimum age limits of 20 years for the marathon and 16 years for the half marathon. Cut-off times are 6 hours for the marathon and 4 hours for the half marathon. Distance markers are placed at every kilometre. Drinking stations are provided approximately every 3 km, and water and refreshments are available at the finish. The routes include tar and gravel roads, dirt tracks and farm roads; road running shoes are appropriate.
The event is conducted under the rules of ASWD, ASA and WA. Safety rules include no earphones, no animals, no racers and no wheelchairs on the course. Club colours and license display requirements apply for licensed athletes, and foreign athletes must comply with WA eligibility rules. Medals are awarded to finishers who complete within the cut-off times. Prize money is equal for male and female athletes across listed age categories.
