Fancourt Marathon : event overview
The Fancourt Marathon takes place at The Ridge, Fancourt in George, Western Cape. The event offers two race distances and uses electronic timing by Bout Time with a timing chip issued in the race bib. No bib means no official time.

- 42.2 km marathon
- 21.1 km half marathon
The routes use tar and gravel roads, dirt tracks and farm roads. The marathon begins with sections through The Links Experience and The Links Golf Course, then continues on tar and gravel through dairy and berry farms before returning to Fancourt. The half marathon runs out of Fancourt, includes Strawberry Hill and joins the marathon route back into Fancourt. Road running shoes are appropriate; gravel shoes may be used.
Entry details note base race fees and a temporary license fee. Online entries incur an additional administration fee. Entries close on 14 October 2026. Manual entries with cash are available at a local outlet until 12 October 2026. No race day entries and no substitutions after 14 October 2026. Registration takes place the day before at The Race Village at The Ridge.
Cut off times are 4 hours for the half marathon and 6 hours for the marathon. Drinking stations are provided approximately every 3 km and water is available at the finish. Medals are awarded to finishers who complete the race within the cut off times. The event is held under ASA, ASWD and WA rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
