About the race
ACVV Relay is a team relay event held at Halfway Toyota George in George, Western Cape. Teams consist of six runners or walkers, each covering 1 km for a total distance of 6 km. The event is organised by ACVV George with support from Halfway Toyota George and Outeniqua Harriers.
Entries are team-based at R100 per person (R600 per team). The minimum age for participants is 12 years. Race numbers, timing chips, and the relay baton are issued from the venue prior to the race; the baton carried by the sixth runner contains the timing chip and must be returned after the race.
Prizes include medals for all finishers and floating trophies for category winners in Business Teams, Running Clubs, High Schools, and Primary Schools. Prize giving takes place after the race at 72 York Street, George; teams must collect their own prizes. Lucky draws will be held on the night and winners must be present to claim them.
The event is conducted under ASA and Athletics SWD rules. Mixed-gender teams are allowed. Participants must stay on sidewalks unless directed by marshals, and the use of earphones, animals, or wheeled assistance is not permitted.
