Victoria – Royal Roads
The event takes place in April at Royal Roads University in Colwood, Victoria, on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Esquimalt and Songhees First Nations.
The available distances are:
- Long course: 11 km
- Short course: 6 km
- Kids race: ~1 km
Courses run on single-track trails and start from the grassy field at the campus entrance. The long course has about 300 m of vertical gain and the short course about 100 m. The long course includes one aid station around 7.5 km supplying water, Gatorade and small snacks. The short course has no aid stations.
The event operates a cupless policy; participants must bring their own drinking container or may purchase a cup on site. Registration fees for the kids race are directed to the South Vancouver Island Nature Trails Society. Post-race food is provided and prize draws are held.
Bib pick-up takes place at the registration tent on the field and requires a government issued photo ID. Parking is available in the adjacent dirt track, pay parking is in effect, and parking volunteers assist on site. Course maps and downloadable GPX/TCX files are available for the routes.
