Vancouver Island Trail Running Series - Lake Cowichan
This event takes place on May 9, 2026 at Centennial Park beside the Cowichan Lake Recreation Centre in Lake Cowichan, British Columbia. The race offers multiple distances and features volunteer-built trail sections.
Distances offered:
- 26 km with 638 m vertical gain.
- 13 km with 171 m vertical gain.
- 1 km kids race.
The long course has three aid stations at approximately 8.75 km, 16 km and 21 km. The short course has one aid station at 8.75 km. Aid stations provide water, Gatorade and snacks. The event is cupless; participants must bring a reusable container or may purchase a cup onsite.
Participants must show a government-issued photo ID to collect race bibs. Parking is available in upper and lower lots and on Point Ideal Drive, with parking volunteers assisting in the lower lots. Kids race registration fees support the Cowichan Lake Trail Blazers Society. Post-race food and drinks are provided and draw prizes are distributed. Lakeview Park Campground will be available on a first-come, first-served basis with 75 sites open for the race weekend.
