The Big Elf Run
The 12th annual Big Elf Run takes place on Saturday, December 12, 2026, in Vancouver's Stanley Park. This holiday-themed event features a course that starts at Lumberman's Arch and winds through trails surrounded by old oak trees. The route continues along the seawall, offering views of Coal Harbour and the Burrard Inlet. The paths are primarily paved with few inclines.
Participants can choose from three main distances:
- 1 km Wee Elf Run/Walk
- 5 km Big Elf Run/Walk
- 10 km Big Elf Run (two loops)
The 5 km and 10 km events include chip timing, while the 1 km run features a finish clock. The course has a cut-off time of two hours. The event is open to participants of various abilities and is stroller and pet-friendly, provided these participants start in the final wave. Dogs must remain on leashes at all times.
Registration includes an elf toque, a wooden medal made in British Columbia that doubles as a tree ornament, and a bib that can be customized with an "Elf Name" if registered by the deadline. On-site amenities include a bag check for one small bag per participant and a DJ. Packet pickup is available at various locations in Burnaby, North Vancouver, and Vancouver in the days leading up to the race. The event supports the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau.
