Valley to the Sea Half Marathon 5k/10k
The Valley to the Sea Half Marathon 5k/10k is an annual running event held on the island of Maui in Hawaii. Now in its 16th year, the competition offers multiple distances for participants, including road races and virtual options. The event takes place on a Saturday and features courses designed with ocean views.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10 km
- 5 km
The Half Marathon course begins at the Iao Valley Needle and follows a route that concludes at the Humpback Whale Sanctuary in Kihei. Both the 5 km and 10 km races start and finish at the Humpback Whale Sanctuary, located at 726 South Kihei Road. These shorter courses provide a run/walk experience along the coastline.
For those unable to attend the live event in Kihei, virtual categories are available for the Half Marathon, 10 km, and 5 km distances. Virtual participants receive their race bib, medal, and shirt by mail. Organized by Runner's Paradise Inc., the event follows a strict refund policy, with no refunds provided within two weeks of the race or in the event of natural disasters.
