Maui 5K
The Maui 5K is a community sports event held in Wailuku, Hawaii, with the primary goal of supporting physical fitness programs in local schools through the Run For Fitness organization. Participants can choose between several distances and participation styles, with 100% of event proceeds donated to the specific Maui County school designated by the entrant during the registration process.
The event offers the following distances:
- 5K Run/Walk (Timed or Untimed)
- 1 Mile Run/Walk (Untimed)
The courses for both the 5K and 1 Mile distances start and finish at the Maui Ocean Center. While the 5K is available as a timed competition for those seeking age group awards, an untimed version is also available for walkers and recreational runners. The 1 Mile course leads participants around the Ma'alaea Triangle and is strictly an untimed event. Specialized categories are available for youth participants aged 17 and under, as well as a stroller category for children aged 4 and under who are accompanied by a registered adult.
A virtual participation option is also available, allowing individuals to complete a 5K or 1 Mile route in their own neighborhoods. For the in-person events, race packet pickup is organized at local venues in Kahului, such as the Skechers store or Aloha Rock Gym, prior to the race day.
