Valley Crest Trails - July 12, 2026
Valley Crest Trails returns in 2026 on the Dirt Mulholland fire road in the Santa Monica Mountains. The event includes multiple distances and a new two person half marathon relay. The course follows a ridgeline with wide open views, including the Nike Missile Site overlook, and runs on runnable fire road with rolling terrain and steady climbs.

The relay is limited to teams of two. Each runner completes roughly 6.5 miles with a designated mid-course exchange on Dirt Mulholland. Relay capacity is limited to 25 teams.
Expect mid July summer conditions: very limited shade, hot and dry weather, and a surface that reflects heat from the fire road. The route is exposed and can feel hotter than ambient temperature, so participants are expected to carry necessary hydration and sun protection. The course will be marked and volunteers will provide direction, but runners should review the route in advance and pace according to conditions.
Every participant receives an official race shirt and a finisher medal. The organizer notes that registrations are final and that there are no refunds, bib transfers, or deferrals.
