Valley Crest Trails : Los Angeles (Tarzana), CA
Valley Crest Trails returns in 2026 after a year away due to Los Angeles wildfires. The event is hosted by Anytime Runners, LLC and follows the Dirt Mulholland fire road along Mulholland’s ridgeline in the Santa Monica Mountains.
The course is fully exposed with little to no shade and features rolling terrain, steady climbs, and a fast but demanding downhill finish. Runners pass near the Nike Missile Site overlook with views across the San Fernando Valley, surrounding canyons, and toward the Pacific Ocean. The race uses a runnable but sometimes challenging fire road surface.
This edition takes place in mid July, so heat and dry conditions are expected. Temperatures will rise through the morning and the road surface can reflect additional heat. Participants receive an official race shirt and a finisher medal. The organizer notes the event may be modified, postponed, or canceled due to extreme weather, wildfire risk, air quality, or permit restrictions. All registrations are final; the organizer maintains a no refund, no transfer, no deferral policy.
