Event

Valentine's 5K is scheduled for February 8, 2026, in Valparaiso, Indiana. The event distance is 5K. It is the second race in the Race the Region series and benefits Valparaiso High School cross country programs.

Registration and packet pick-up

Early registration (before January 19, 2026) is $25 without a shirt and $30 with a shirt. Standard registration (January 20 through February 7, 2026) is $30 without a shirt and $35 with a shirt. Race day registration is listed at $35 without a shirt and $40 with a shirt, with no size guarantee. Shirt sizes are guaranteed for registrations by January 20, 2026. Pre-race packet pick-up is at Extra Mile Fitness Company, 3400 Calumet Ave, Valparaiso, IN; specified pickup times are provided for the Friday and Saturday before the race. Race day packet pick-up and registration take place at the Athletic Field House, Valparaiso High School, 2727 North Campbell, Valparaiso, IN.

Event features and awards

Timing is computerized by T&H Timing with chip timing and timing mats. Finishers receive a custom medal. Live results are available via text and email. Awards are given to top overall male and female, top male and female masters, and top three in each listed age group from 10 & under through 75+.

Course and policies

Directional signs are posted at turns. No dogs, strollers, bicycles, in-line skates, scooters, or wheeled vehicles are allowed on the course. The course will remain open for competition for 1 hour and 15 minutes from the official start; after that time course support will end. Unclaimed awards may be picked up within 14 days at Extra Mile Fitness Co. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
