Event Details
The Valentine's 5K takes place on Sunday, February 8, 2026. The event is the second race in the Race the Region series. It is both a run and a walk.
Course
The 5K course starts and finishes at Valparaiso High School on 2727 North Campbell Street in Valparaiso, Indiana. The route goes through the Forest Park neighborhood and includes some rolling hills.
Registration & Fees
Registration is conducted online. The fee structure is as follows:
- Early Registration (before January 19, 2026): $25 without a race shirt; $30 with a shirt.
- Registration (January 20 through February 7, 2026): $30 without a shirt; $35 with a shirt.
- Race Day Registration: $35 without a shirt; $40 with a shirt (sizes are not guaranteed). A shirt size is guaranteed for registrations completed by January 20, 2026.
Packet Pick-up
Packet pick-up is available before the race at Extra Mile Fitness Company (3400 Calumet Ave, Valparaiso) on Friday, February 6 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and Saturday, February 7 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.). On race day, packet pick-up and registration open at 8:00 a.m. at the Athletic Field House of Valparaiso High School.
Awards & Policies
Awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers, top male and female masters runners, and the top three finishers in various age groups. The course will be open for competition for 1 hour and 15 minutes after the official start, after which all course support ends. Dogs, strollers, bicycles, in-line skates, scooters, and other wheeled vehicles are not allowed on the course. Unclaimed awards can be picked up at Extra Mile Fitness Company within 14 days after the event.
