Event Overview

The Vale of Three Falls offers three distances: Lower Falls 5K, Middle Falls 10K, and Upper Falls 15K. The event takes place on May 17th at Letchworth State Park, starting and finishing at the Parade Grounds. The park is known for its scenic views of the Genesee River.

Course Details

All three distances are out-and-back courses along East Parade Grounds Road. The surface is mainly stone, gravel, or broken asphalt. The route is described as hilly and features beautiful views of the river.

Event Features

  • Lower Falls 5K: One aid station.
  • Middle Falls 10K: Three aid stations.
  • Upper Falls 15K: Five aid stations. A time cut exists at the Big Bend aid station; participants must reach it by 11:50 am to continue.

The event includes a finisher medal for each race and an event shirt, guaranteed for registrations before May 1st. Post-race food and drinks are provided. The aid stations are cup-free.

Awards

Awards are given as follows:

  • Lower Falls 5K: Overall male/female winners and first place in 10-year age groups. An awards ceremony is held approximately 15 minutes after the 10K start.
  • Middle Falls 10K: Top five male/female overall. Awards are given as finishers complete the race.
  • Upper Falls 15K: Top three male/female overall. Awards are given as finishers complete the race.

Logistics

Packet pickup is available on specific days before the event in Rochester and on race day at the Parade Grounds Lodge, though waiting until race day is not advised.
