Run 2 End Hunger - Utica
Run 2 End Hunger is an annual Thanksgiving morning run and walk organized by the Utica RoadRunners. The event is described as family friendly and supports local nonprofit food pantries, with 100% of food donations and monetary proceeds benefiting the community.
The event is based at the Utica Recreation Center, 220 Memorial Parkway, Utica, NY. Courses follow scenic routes through Valley View and Eagle pathways and are offered in two distances:
- 2-mile walk or run
- 5K run
Entry information and requirements are stated as follows: the entry fee is $10 per person or $25 per family, and participants are asked to bring a minimum of three nonperishable food items per person. Registration is offered both online and in person on Thanksgiving morning; participants under 18 must provide a signed waiver, which is available at in-person registration.
Food donations may be dropped off before registration on Thanksgiving morning. All donations are directed to the Utica Rescue Mission, and monetary proceeds support a local organization selected by the club membership. The Greater Utica Sunrise Rotary Club has assisted with food collection for more than 17 years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
