Event Overview
This is the Connetquot event in the student-led "Using Our Voices" Mental Health Run Series. It is the fourth annual edition. The event is designed and executed entirely by students, who manage all aspects from planning to race day. The primary goal is to promote messages about reducing stress, building relationships, and supporting mental and physical health through movement.
Event Details
The run takes place at Connetquot High School in Bohemia, New York. Several event formats are offered:
- A competitive 5 km race.
- A Kids Fun Run for children up to age 10.
- A non-competitive 1 Mile Run/Walk.
Packet pickup is available on-site at the venue on the morning of the event. There will be race raffles with prizes. Custom medals are awarded to the top three overall male, female, and non-binary finishers, as well as the top three winners in five-year age groups from 10 and under to 80 and over.
Purpose and Impact
Funds raised support students across Long Island by providing counseling opportunities and a platform for leadership and collaboration. All proceeds benefit mental health organizations that work directly with youth. The initiative also helps students work toward the New York State Seal of Civic Readiness.
