Event Overview
The Medal Madness event in Slidell, Louisiana, takes place at John Slidell Park. This event features three distinct distances for participants to choose from:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon
The races are conducted on out-and-back courses. The 5K and 10K participants use a 0.78-mile loop. The 5K runners complete this course two times, while the 10K runners complete it four times. The Half Marathon uses a 1.09-mile out-and-back course, which participants complete six times.
Logistics and Rules
All participants must register through the online system prior to the event, as there is no on-site registration. Packet pickup is available at the race location starting 30 minutes before the event and concluding 10 minutes prior to the start. A course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes is enforced for all distances.
Parking is located near the start and finish area at designated spots within the park. Finisher medals are awarded to those who complete their respective courses. Additionally, participants have the opportunity to take part in a best costume contest. The event is part of the US Road Running race series, where participants can earn series points.
