Event overview
The Pirate 5K & Half Marathon takes place on April 4, 2026, at Hickory City Park in Hickory, North Carolina. The listed starting line and registration area are north of the VFW, across the street from the corner of 16th Ave Pl NW and 12th St Dr NW (1581 12th St Dr NW). Parking and restrooms are located at the Trailhead.

Course and format
Both courses use out-and-back loops. The 5K course repeats the out-and-back segment two times. The Half Marathon repeats its out-and-back segment six times. The event enforces a course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes.
Registration and race-day details
All runners must register on RunSignup; there is no on-site registration. Packet pickup opens 30 minutes before the race and closes 10 minutes before the race start. Registration and the starting line are located north of the VFW, across the street from the corner mentioned above.
Awards and other information
All finishers receive a themed finisher medal. A group photo is taken at the beginning of each race. Costumes are encouraged but not required; a best-costume award is given at the beginning of each race. The race earns points toward the US Road Running Race Series.
