Medal Madness at Lakewood Park
The Medal Madness event at Lakewood Park Regional Park in Fort Pierce, Florida, offers a variety of road running distances on an asphalt surface. This event is part of the US Road Running series and is open to all runners who register through the online system.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon
The courses are designed as out-and-back routes. The 5K and 10K use a 1.56-mile section (3.11 miles for the full out-and-back), with the 5K completing the loop once and the 10K finishing it twice. The Half Marathon uses a 1.64-mile section (3.28 miles for the full out-and-back) and requires four total out-and-back repetitions. All events are subject to a course time limit of 6 hours.
The race starts near the tennis courts where the pavilion and restroom facilities are located. Packet pickup is conducted on-site shortly before the event begins, though no registration is permitted at the park on race day. All finishers receive a medal, and participants have the option to participate in a costume contest. Points for the US Road Running series are also available for those competing in these distances.
