Road Running Event in Concord
The US Road Running event in Concord takes place at Vietnam Veterans Park. The event features several distance options, all following out-and-back routes within the park. The course is primarily paved but includes a stretch of gravel and dirt. Runners will find most of the route is shaded, providing coverage from the sun.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K: A single out-and-back loop totaling 3.11 miles.
- 10K: This course requires completing the out-and-back loop two times.
- Half Marathon: This distance involves four repetitions of a 3.28-mile out-and-back loop.
The event is staged at the Dogwood Shelter within the park. Facilities, including bathrooms, are located in the right corner of the parking lot at the park entrance. All participants must register online in advance, as there is no registration available on the day of the event. Packet pickup is conducted on-site shortly before the start.
The event has a total time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes for all distances. All finishers receive a medal upon completion of their race. Participants are also encouraged to participate in a best costume competition, and those interested can obtain event-specific gear through an online shop.
