About the race
The Urban Bourbon Half Marathon and 5K takes place in Louisville on October 17, 2026. The event includes an in person half marathon, an in person 5K, and virtual options for both distances. The half marathon covers 13.1 miles and the course starts and finishes in downtown Louisville, passing through Cherokee Park.
The event frames itself around Louisville and Kentucky distilling heritage, noting more than 200 years of local distilling history. Walkers are permitted in the half marathon but must maintain an 18 minute per mile pace. All participants in the in person events receive a long sleeve shirt and a bourbon themed finisher medal.
Half marathon registrants are provided bourbon samples, beer, pizza, and soup as part of their entry. 5K participants may purchase a discounted wristband on race morning for $20 to access the same food and beverage offerings. The weekend includes an Urban Bourbon Bash at Fourth Street Live with live music by the Louisville Crashers.
