About the race
The Waverly Winter Warrior takes place on 12/13/2026 at Waverly Park in Louisville, KY (4800 Waverly Park Rd). It is the Second Annual Winter Warrior Series event and highlights the park trails with a loop course or a half marathon option.
Distances offered:
- ~6 to 6.5 miles loop on park trails
- 13.1 miles half marathon
The Start/Finish area is near the Playground Parking Lot. The course begins at the playground and heads toward the lake, then enters the trail beside the dog park and follows the rightmost trail options for most of the route. Trails included are Twisting Bends, Clinic Loop, and Fresh Air Loops. Bright colored course markings will be used as confidence markers. An aid station will be located about halfway through the course.
This event offers a virtual option by request; participants who do not finish in person are moved to the virtual option after the race and receive instructions afterward. Virtual finishers count toward Winter Warrior status but are not eligible for Event or Series awards.
Awards will be given for Overall Male and Overall Female. Completing three of the four series races earns the Winter Warrior medal and shirt. Shirts are an optional add-on and available in limited quantity on race day. Packet pick-up is on-site at the Playground Parking Lot. The event is cupless; participants are asked to provide their own water bottle or hydration system. Bottled water is available in limited supply and prepackaged snacks will be provided post race. Parking at the Playground Parking Lot is limited and carpooling is preferred.
Registration opens 1/16/2026 and closes 12/13/2026. Registration fees are $25 for the shorter race and $40 for the half marathon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
