Event Overview

The SKECHERS Hot Chocolate Run will take place in Louisville on December 12, 2026. The event offers participants a choice of 5K, 10K, or 15K distances. It starts and finishes at Waterfront Park, specifically at the TurfMutt Great Lawn South on 231 E Witherspoon St.

What's Included

Registration includes an exclusive full-zip jacket, a commemorative finisher's medal, a race bib, and free race photos. After the run, finishers receive a mug filled with chocolate fondue, dippable snacks, and hot chocolate. There is a post-race party at Waterfront Park with music and vendors. Races are professionally timed and the course is professionally managed.

The course runs through downtown Louisville, passing landmarks like Historic Main Street, Waterfront Park, Louisville Slugger Field, and the Yum Center. An interactive course map is available online.

Additional Options

A paid VIP upgrade called the Ghirardelli Cocoa Club is available. It offers perks like a Ghirardelli shopping bag with cocoa, a $35 store credit, VIP corral placement, access to a private area with heaters and dedicated restrooms, a hot breakfast item, and upgraded hot cocoa and snacks.

Schedule & Logistics

Packet pickup (expo) is scheduled for Friday, December 12, 2025, at Louisville Slugger Field (401 E Main St). There is no race day packet pickup; participants must attend the expo or pay for packet mailing in advance. Gear check opens 60 minutes before the start time on race day.

Parking on race day is available at the Louisville Slugger Field Lot, accessible from Main St. at Jackson St. Free parking is also available at this lot for the expo. The event uses a color-coded Event Alert System to communicate course conditions.

Awards

Overall awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance (5K, 10K, 15K), with cash prizes and free registration for the following year.
