Hot Chocolate Run - Louisville
The Hot Chocolate Run returns to downtown Louisville on December 12, 2026. This event combines fitness with a chocolate-themed celebration, featuring multiple distances and a post-race festival. The course highlights notable local landmarks, including Historic Main Street, Waterfront Park, Louisville Slugger Field, and the Yum Center.
Participants can choose from three different distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 15 km
The event is professionally timed and managed. Every registered participant receives a race kit that includes a full-zip jacket and a commemorative finisher's medal. Free high-resolution race photos are provided to all runners after they cross the finish line.
The finish line experience features a post-race party at Waterfront Park. Participants receive a finisher's mug containing chocolate fondue, dippables, and hot chocolate. The party area includes music and various vendors. An optional upgrade is available for the Ghirardelli Cocoa Club, which provides access to a private lounge, a hot breakfast item, and additional amenities.
A pre-race Expo is held at Louisville Slugger Field on December 11, where participants must pick up their race bibs and swag bags if they have not opted for packet mailing. There is no race day packet pickup. For the safety of participants, an Event Alert System (EAS) is used to communicate course conditions based on weather and other factors.
