ACORN Castlemilk Trail Race
The ACORN Castlemilk Trail Race takes place in the deciduous woodlands of Castlemilk, offering participants a technical off-road running experience. The course consists of natural terrain involving mud, tree roots, and potential obstacles such as fallen logs. The route features varied topography, including sections of elevation with both uphill and downhill segments.
Participants can choose between two distinct distances:
- 10 km (approximate distance)
- 6 km (short course option)
The event starts and finishes adjacent to the Linn Park Golf Club on Simshill Road. The trails are fully waymarked and supported by a team of volunteer marshals. A water station is provided along the route, with additional snacks and water available for runners at the finish line.
The event includes first aid cover and incorporates the Glasgow City Council Environmental Levy. Part of the proceeds from the race is donated to the Friends of Linn Park. Registration is limited to a total of 150 places. Runners have the option to purchase specific event merchandise during the sign-up process.
