University Place Twisted Cider 5K, 12K & 1K
The fifth annual Twisted Cider events take place in University Place on July 25, 2026, with start and finish at Curran Apple Orchard Park. Courses wind through quiet neighborhoods and offer glimpses of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and Puget Sound. The routes include gentle rolling hills as well as flat, faster sections.
Distances offered:
- 5K - USATF certified WA22013RMB
- 12K - two hour time limit to finish
- Kids 1K - out-and-back along Sound View Drive for ages 12 and under
Registration for the 5K and 12K includes a commemorative finisher medal, a tri-blend shirt (order by June 27 to guarantee size), and a collective bib; the Kids 1K finisher receives a ribbon. Packet pickup contains the race bib with timing chip, a gear check tag, and a pretzel and cider redemption tag for finish-line refreshments. Awards include overall male and female honors and age group ribbons for the top five finishers across age divisions from 9 & under through 90+. Medical services are provided on course. A portion of proceeds supports the Humane Society of Tacoma & Pierce County. Results and race photos are posted online after the event.
