Event overview
Santa Runs Tacoma takes place in downtown Tacoma, Washington on Saturday, December 13, 2025. The event includes three distances: a half marathon, a 10K and a 5K (3.1 miles). All races start and finish in downtown Tacoma. A portion of proceeds supports the Humane Society of Tacoma & Pierce County. Medical services are provided by a local sports medicine provider.
Courses
The half marathon is an out-and-back course that runs from downtown along the waterfront, onto the Ruston Way Path toward Point Ruston Waterwalk and Dune Peninsula Park, and includes the Wilson Way Bridge turnaround. The 10K follows the same waterfront out-and-back route for a shorter distance. The 5K follows a 3.1 mile route along parts of the waterfront.

Registration, packet pickup and race items
Registration includes a commemorative finisher medal, a collective bib, and a festive beanie; long sleeve race shirts are available for purchase during registration. Packets include a race bib with a timing chip and a gear check tear tag. Gear check is available on race day and runners provide their own bags. Unclaimed swag is not mailed after the race.
Awards, results and media
Awards include top overall male and female and age group ribbons for the top five in standard age brackets; awards must be picked up at the results tent. Timing is provided by Ready, Set...Time! Photos and free downloads are provided by CJ Photography and results are posted online after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
