Santa Runs Tacoma
Santa Runs Tacoma is a set of road races that start and finish in downtown Tacoma at 815 Pacific Avenue. The event features three distances:
- Half Marathon: out-and-back waterfront course via Ruston Way and Point Ruston.
- 10K: out-and-back following part of the half marathon route.
- 5K: a 3.1 mile community run/walk for families.
The half marathon includes a few rolling hills, runs along the waterfront and the Ruston Way Path, passes Point Ruston Waterwalk and Dune Peninsula Park, and crosses the Wilson Way Bridge. The courses are certified (WA24005RMB, WA24006RMB, WA240007RMB). Aid stations on the half marathon provide water and electrolytes, and several have fixed bathrooms.
Registration benefits and race logistics include a commemorative finisher medal for all finishers, a collective bib with timing chip, a festive beanie for early registrants, and race shirts available for purchase during registration. Team discounts, non-refundable entry fees, no transfers, and a parent or guardian waiver requirement for participants under 18 are part of the registration policies. Packet pickup is organized prior to race day at a local pickup location.
Finish-line amenities include food and beverages and an after-event party at The Forum Restaurant & Bar at the finish area. A portion of proceeds supports the Humane Society of Tacoma & Pierce County. Pacers are provided by running groups Half Fanatics and Marathon Maniacs.
