University of Delaware's 5th Annual Chicken Chase 5K / 1 Mile
University of Delaware's 5th Annual Chicken Chase takes place in Dewey Beach at The Starboard (2009 DE-1). The event offers multiple ways to participate.

Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, June 12 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at The Starboard. Day-of registration is available the morning of the event; pre-registration for the 1 Mile closes the Friday before the race at noon. Registration fees vary and a guest pass option is offered for non-race attendees.
The course is an out-and-back route that starts on Salisbury Street (beach side), continues on King Charles to Silver Lake Bridge, proceeds via Queen Street onto the Rehoboth Boardwalk, and turns around at New Castle Street. The course is described as fast and flat.
All proceeds support the 302 Tour, a three-day state tour for student-athletes and coaches to visit community and historic sites across Delaware. Amenities include event T-shirts, finish medals for the first 300 participants, an awards ceremony at The Starboard, and a post-race party with beer options, seltzers, and food. Guest access to the post-race party is available by separate pass; 5K participants have included access.
Policies note that no dogs are allowed due to insurance liability, bibs are non-transferable, and registrations are non-refundable. Overall and masters awards use gun time; other age groups use chip time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
