University of Delaware's 5th Annual Chicken Chase 5K / 1 Mile
The event takes place on Saturday, June 13, 2026 in Dewey Beach, DE at The Starboard, 2009 DE-1. It offers timed 5K competition, a competitive walking 5K that requires walking the entire race, and a 1 mile walk. A guest pass is available for non race participants.

The course is an out and back route starting on Salisbury Street beach side, continuing on King Charles to Silver Lake Bridge, then via Queen Street onto the Rehoboth Boardwalk with a turnaround at New Castle Street. Packet pickup and registration are available the Friday before the race at The Starboard and day of registration is offered.
Proceeds support the 302 Tour, a three day tour where student athletes and coaches visit sites across Delaware. Amenities include event t shirts, finish medals for the first 300 participants, an awards ceremony at The Starboard, and a post race party with beer for those 21 and older, seltzers, and wings. Post race party access is included for 5K participants; a guest pass is available for non participants.
Race policies note no dogs due to insurance liability, bibs are non transferable, and registrations are non refundable.
Awards are presented by gun time for overall winners and by chip time for most age groups, with multiple age, alumni, walker, and team categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
