University of Delaware's 5th Annual Chicken Chase 5K / 1 Mile
This event takes place in Dewey Beach at The Starboard on June 13, 2026. It offers organized distance options and a mapped out-and-back course that runs from Salisbury Street (beach side) along King Charles to Silver Lake Bridge, continues via Queen Street onto the Rehoboth Boardwalk, with a turnaround at New Castle Street.

- Competitive walking 5K (walk the entire race, no running)
- 1 Mile walk
Packet pickup is scheduled for the day before the event at The Starboard. Day-of registration is available. Amenities listed include event T-shirts, finish medals for the first 300 participants, an awards ceremony at The Starboard, and a post-race party with food and beverages. Free beer is noted for attendees aged 21 and over; access to the post-race party is included for 5K participants, and a paid guest pass is available for non-race participants.
Proceeds support the 302 Tour, a three-day program for student-athletes and coaches visiting sites across Delaware.
Policies include no dogs due to insurance liability, non-transferable bibs, and no refunds on registrations.
