Bethany Beach Firecracker 5k Run/Walk
The Bethany Beach Firecracker is a chip timed 5K run and walk held on June 28, 2026, at the Bethany Beach Bandstand in Bethany Beach, DE. The course begins on Atlantic Avenue and Garfield Parkway. The event includes pre-race announcements and an awards presentation.
Packet pick up is available the day before at Harvest Tide Steakhouse, 98 Garfield Parkway, 3rd Floor, Bethany Beach, and there is live packet pick up on the bandstand on race day. Shirts and race packets will not be mailed; registrants who cannot attend are asked to arrange for someone else to collect their items. Registration opens July 4, 2025, and closes May 31, 2026; the registration fee is $30.00. All donations benefit the Bethany Beach 4th of July Celebration.
For safety, the event prohibits hand cycles, strollers other than baby jogging strollers, babies in carriers or backpacks, in-line skates, skateboards, bicycles, and animals on leashes on the course. The race may be canceled or delayed for severe weather conditions including hurricane or tropical storm watches or warnings, extreme thunderstorms and lightning, or flash flood watches or warnings. Such weather-related cancellations or delays do not result in refunds of entry fees or issuance of future event credits. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
