Bethany Beach Firecracker 5k Run/Walk
The Bethany Beach Firecracker is a chip timed 5 km run and walk held on June 28, 2026 at the Bethany Beach Bandstand in Bethany Beach, DE. The event is presented as a family oriented race and walk tied to the Fourth of July community celebration. All donations from the event benefit the Bethany Beach 4th of July Celebration.
Packet pick up is offered the evening before at Harvest Tide Steakhouse in Bethany Beach and there is live packet pick up on race day at the Bethany Beach Bandstand. Race awards are presented after the event. Registration opens July 4, 2025 and closes May 30, 2026; the stated registration fee is $30.00. Shirts and packets will not be mailed; registrants who cannot attend may arrange for someone else to pick up their shirt.
For participant safety the organizer prohibits hand cycles, strollers except baby jogging strollers, babies in carriers or backpacks, in-line skates, skateboards, bicycles, and animals on leashes on the course. The event may be cancelled or delayed for severe weather conditions including hurricane or tropical storm watches or warnings, extreme thunderstorms and lightning, or flash flood watches or warnings.
