Canadian Cross Country Championships : Plains of Abraham, Quebec City
The Canadian Cross Country Championships take place on the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City across two days, 28 and 29 November 2026. The event is hosted by Athletics Canada in partnership with Club d’athlétisme Université Laval and stages national championship races across multiple age categories, plus community races and relays.
Races and distances include:
- U16 races - 4 km
- U18 races - 6 km
- U20 races - 8 km
- Open/Senior races - 10 km
- Para division race - 5 km
- 5 km community race
- 1 km kids race
- Mixed relays - 4 x 2 km
- Masters races - 6 km and 8 km (age 30+)
Eligibility and awards follow Athletics Canada rules. All athletes must be Athletics Canada members to compete. Only Canadian citizens or holders of a valid Canadian Permanent Resident Card are eligible for individual championship medals, team scoring, and related awards. Masters competition is open to athletes age 30 and over, with age-group medals and club team awards based on specified scoring rules.
Para division athletes compete on the same course with an option to circumvent hay bales; races are organized by gender and age group and athletes have a set time limit to complete the course. There will not be a technical meeting and doping control tests may be conducted. Event-branded merchandise will be available on site.
