United Way of St. Charles Bridge Run
The United Way of St. Charles Bridge Run is an annual event in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana. The race is presented by Shell Norco and Valero St. Charles Refinery and marks its 30th anniversary in 2026. This point-to-point course takes participants across the Mississippi River by crossing the Hale Boggs Bridge.
The event features several registration options:
- 5K (Open to all runners and walkers)
- 5K - NOTC Family (Specifically for New Orleans Track Club members)
- Racewalkers
The race begins at Harry Hurst Middle School in Destrehan and concludes at Westbank Bridge Park in Luling. Because the course is point-to-point, the organizers provide parking and shuttle bus information for participants and spectators. Other available services include a gear check and packet pickup.
Participants can compete as individuals or join the Largest Team Competition, which encourages groups from companies, organizations, or circles of friends to register together. Following the race, the event hosts a post-race party. Proceeds from the run support the United Way of St. Charles, an organization that has been focusing on education, income, and health services in the community since 1955.
