Unite to Fight 5K in Stamford
The Eighth Annual Unite to Fight 5K Run/Walk takes place on August 23, 2026 at Mill River Park in Stamford, Connecticut. The event is presented by Filling in the Blanks, an organization founded in 2013 that provides weekend food bags to children experiencing food insecurity.

Registration opens May 28, 2026 and closes August 9, 2026. Posted registration fees are $40.00 for the in-person 5K, $10.00 for the Kids Fun Run, and $35.00 for the Virtual 5K. The virtual option accepts submitted results. Registered participants receive a Unite to Fight T-shirt; T-shirt availability may be limited for registrations after July 17, 2026.
The organizer notes that in Fairfield County more than 33,000 children face uncertain access to meals and that many children rely on school meals during the week but may go from Friday lunch until Monday breakfast without a decent meal. Filling in the Blanks serves more than 10,000 children at over 200 sites across Fairfield, Westchester, and Putnam counties, has established four in-school pantries, and in 2023 launched the Fresh Food On The Move mobile pantry providing fresh produce, proteins, staples and health and wellness services.
