Unite to Fight 5K Run/Walk : Stamford, CT

The Eighth Annual Unite to Fight 5K Run/Walk occurs on August 23, 2026, at Mill River Park in Stamford, CT. The event is presented by Filling in the Blanks to support efforts to reduce childhood hunger in Fairfield County.

In Fairfield County more than 33,000 children face food insecurity. Many children rely on school meals during the week and lack sufficient food from Friday lunch until Monday breakfast. Founded in 2013, Filling in the Blanks fills those weekend gaps by providing each child in its program with a bag of healthy, easy to prepare food. The organization continuously serves more than 10,000 children at over 200 sites across Fairfield, Westchester, and Putnam counties. It has established four in school pantries and in 2023 launched the Fresh Food On The Move mobile pantry to provide families with fresh produce, proteins, staples, and health and wellness services.

Event options include in person and virtual participation. Registration opens May 21, 2026. In person registration closes August 9, 2026; the virtual 5K registration closes August 23, 2026. Fees listed for the events are $40 for the in person 5K, $10 for the Kids Fun Run, and $35 for the virtual 5K. A Unite to Fight T shirt is provided with registration; T shirts are based on availability for registrations after July 17, 2026. The event proceeds rain or shine.
