Nicholas Pedone 5K Run/Walk
The Nicholas Pedone 5K Run/Walk takes place on August 30, 2026 at Glen Cove High School in Glen Cove, New York, 150 Dosoris Lane. This is the event's 13th annual running and it benefits the Nicholas Pedone Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that supports children fighting pediatric cancer and raises awareness during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
The event includes timed and untimed options and a short fun run for younger participants. The course is a USATF certified 3.1 mile route that runs through streets of Glen Cove, starting in front of the high school and finishing at the rear near the football field and track. Baby strollers and baby joggers are permitted on course when placed in the back of the field.

Amenities for participants include a raffle ticket for pre-registrants, post-race refreshments, snacks, and entertainment. Awards include prize money totaling $1,000 with payouts for top finishers, trophies for top overall and wheelchair finishers, and medals for top three in male and female age groups across standard age divisions.
