Inclusive Road Race and Adaptive Sports Expo
The 2026 Unified 5K and AdaptXpo is an inclusive event held at the Brunswick Parks and Recreation Department on Neptune Drive. This inaugural event is designed to accommodate various forms of movement, allowing participants to run, walk, row, or roll through the course. The proceeds from the event support AdaptX initiatives, including education, research, fitness programming, and grant programs focused on accessibility.
Participants can choose from several distance options and participation styles:
- 5K Walk/Run/Roll with an early start option for those who anticipate taking more than one hour.
- 5K Run or Roll.
- 1 Mile Walk/Run/Roll.
The event features the AdaptXpo, an adaptive sports expo showcasing vendors and clinics. This portion of the gathering celebrates organizations dedicated to health, inclusion, assistive technology, and accessible physical activity. The Unified 5K provides a space where athletes with and without disabilities participate alongside one another. The course and surrounding activities are structured to ensure that individuals of different physical abilities can share the starting line and finish line experience together in Brunswick.
