Support and logistics are runner centered. This is a self-supported event: participants must provide their own water and food drops or arrange crew to meet them on course. Crews and relay exchanges must pull completely off the roadway when meeting runners. Runners are responsible for removing their supplies and trash after finishing and for arranging return travel from Waimea or the Mauna Kea Access Road intersection.
Safety and timing notes: reflective apparel and lights are required for all runners. Temperatures may range from the low 40s with wind and rain to the mid 80s. Cutoff rules include a 19 hour overall limit for the 100K and a requirement to reach the top of Saddle Road by the Mauna Kea Recreation area within 10 hours. There is a 12pm cutoff for the 50K and 25K and early starts can be arranged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
