AVR Umborne Ug 2026
The Umborne Ug is a multi-terrain running event organized by Axe Valley Runners and the Umborne Hall Committee. The course takes place in East Devon, starting and finishing at the Umborne Village Hall near Colyton. The route is approximately 75% off-road and includes sections through the private Widworthy Estate.
The event follows the rules of the Association of Running Clubs. The route begins with a clockwise loop on the road, passing a farm and a bridge before returning to the hall to allow for spectator viewing. The course continues through wooded areas and scenic landscapes. Participants should be aware of technical sections in the first woodland area. The course is supported by 21 marshals, directional signage, and two backmarkers.
- 10 km
The event utilizes a cupless water station located approximately halfway through the course and another at the finish line. Runners are expected to carry their own bottles or cups for refills. Facilities at the village hall include limited car parking in nearby fields, toilets, and portable toilets. On-site medical help and first aid are provided.
Participants must be at least 16 years old to enter. Registration takes place at the hall where runners collect their race numbers. Following the run, hot drinks, food, and cakes are available at the hall for participants and their families. All proceeds from the event support the Umborne Village Hall funds.
