AVR Umborne Ug 2026
The AVR Umborne Ug is a multi-terrain running event organized by Axe Valley Runners and the Umborne Hall Committee. The course covers a distance of 10 km and takes place in East Devon. The race starts and finishes at the Umborne Village Hall, located approximately 3 miles north of Colyton.
The route consists of approximately 75% off-road terrain. The course begins with a clockwise road loop from the hall, traveling towards a farm and bridge before returning to the hall area. Runners then follow a path that includes a scenic section on the private Widworthy Estate and a passage through wooded areas. There are two backmarkers and 21 marshals stationed along the route, alongside directional signage.

The event is held under the rules of the Association of Running Clubs. There is a minimum age requirement of 16 years for all participants. The organizers operate a cupless water policy, requesting that runners bring their own containers to be filled at the water station located approximately halfway through the course and at the finish line. Facilities at the village hall include limited field parking, toilets, and portable toilets. Medical assistance and first aid are available on-site.
