Ultraman Australia - Noosa Triathlon
Ultraman Australia is a three day, annual endurance triathlon covering about 515 km. The event starts and finishes at Noosa Heads beach, in front of the Noosa Heads Surf Lifesaving Club on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Noosa Heads is named as one of Australia’s top ten beaches.
The race is divided into four stages over three days. Each day has a 12 hour cut-off. The published daily distances are listed below.
- Day 1: 10 km swim and 145 km bike
- Day 2: 276.1 km bike
- Day 3: 84.3 km run
The first UM Australia was held in 2015. The Ultraman distance began with an event in Hawaii in 1983, and Ultraman distance events are now held in several countries including Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Florida, Hawaii, Israel and Canada. UM Australia is described as an independent, home grown event with a dedicated event organising team and support from local businesses, community groups and sponsors.
